Sports and Recreation Run Wild at Wrenwood

Now, Wrenwood’s farmhouse-inspired duet-style dwellings are designed to prioritize your peace - but when you’re craving a bit of action to jump-start your heart? These ITB homes position you in the center of the action. Whether you’re cheering on your favorite Carolina team, or breaking a sweat after a long 9 to 5, there’s plenty of action nearby to get your blood pumping. Best part? Nothing is further than ten minutes down the road.

From football, to basketball, to fishing, here are some of the most exciting sports-themed activities in which Wrenwood residents can participate. Stretch first - then start scrolling!

Cheer on the Pack at Carter-Finley Stadium

Wrenwood is only 5 minutes away from the Carter-Finley Stadium, home of the N.C. State Wolfpack football team. Every fall, you can join 58,000 screaming fans as they cheer on the 7-time championship-winning team. Don’t forget to arrive early for tailgating, which takes place in the many lots around the stadium as well as Raleighwood, a 25,000 sq. ft. fan zone that hosts food trucks, beverage stations, and seating areas. The Carter-Finley Stadium is notable for having the smallest clearance between the stands and the sidelines of any ACC stadium, which may be part of the reason why Wolfpack fans are known to be extremely passionate about their games.

So, get ready to get rowdy with a pack of wolves! Trust us, it’ll be a howling good time.

WATCH THE PUCKS FLY at the PNC Arena

Wrenwood is also about 7 minutes away from the PNC Arena, primarily known for being the home of the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team. From September to April, you can watch the puck ricochet around the ice at breathtaking speeds and roar with the crowd at every goal. Plus-ones who don’t particularly care for hockey can find plenty to enjoy at Hurricanes games, too! From stellar performances by the Storm Squad - the Hurricanes' spirit team - to scrumptious Southern concessions like freshly-smoked BBQ sandwiches.

Regarding food, if you’re not from around here, note that we do tailgate hockey games in Raleigh. We just don’t know how to do it any other way.

CATCH SOME B-ball at the PNC Arena and Reynolds Coliseum

The PNC Arena is also host to the Wolfpack men’s basketball team, which you can root for from November to March as it takes on historic rivals like Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Just a hop-skip away—about 15 minutes by car—is Reynolds Coliseum, home to the record-setting N.C. State women’s basketball team. Under legendary coach Kay Yow, the team has dominated women’s basketball for over 30 years. And thanks to Wrenwood? You’re welcome to be a part of this award-winning legacy.

No matter what tip-off you’re trying to see, we can promise Wrenwood puts you only minutes from the action. Now that’s a slam-dunk kind of Saturday if we ever saw one!

KEEP SCORE at WakeMed Soccer Park

Heading in a different direction, Wrenwood is about 6 minutes away from the WakeMed Soccer Park, where you can watch—you guessed it—soccer. The North Carolina Football Club and the North Carolina Courage women’s team play home games here. Located in the cheerful suburb of Cary, WakeMed Soccer Park has hosted multiple NCAA College Cups, ACC Championships, and several other national and regional tournaments.

When not used for soccer, the 150-acre park hosts charity walks, high school cross-country races, and community events like Easter egg hunts. Talk about GOALS!
